Social networking - you love it or you hate it - even some teenagers I spoke to couldn't be bothered with the likes of Facebook or Bebo stating they would rather chat online on MSN. So it all depends on your style really. Great if you have friends and family spread around the world and could (and does) work well in a library situation as it gives an interactive interface to customers - and potential customers. Has been successfully used in many libraries in NZ and elsewhere often as a point of contact with teens where they can post their thoughts. Bottom line is we need to be useful and relevant therefore need to be innovative and creative in how we connect with our community.
