Wiki's - they're great and Wikipedia whether you love it or hate it is hugely popular with kids - their first port of call.
Wiki Answers are useful too.
Being able to use a wiki space for collaborative work has definite potential - editing things live rather than endless emails backwards and forwards amongst a working group. Being able to limit who it is open to is a plus for this type of project.
There is potential to have a wiki for YA's where they can post reviews and comments, make suggestions for library events....something they have ownership of.
Open world Catalogue : ability to have a subject guide reflecting the interests of users; patron comments and reviews.
